It coats and stays on threads, metal to metal contact points, or any places where you want to keep moisture and grit out and friction to a minimum. Its great for bearing races used in hubs, headsets, pedals, pulleys, where speed isn't as much of a factor but durability and protection is. Its thickness probably means it isn't the best for freehub pawls,
